Yesterday we started reading our first class text: ‘A Curious Incident of the dog in the night-time’ by Mark Hadden. Re-capping on our learning about anti-heroes and through a gathering of these ideas, we started to consider whether the protagonist – Christopher Boone – could be considered as an anti-hero.

Today we took that further and began to use the skills of evaluation and critique to explore how far we had managed to understand the concept of the ‘anti-hero’. Your time spent evaluating each other’s work pushed you to consider how to develop your answers to fully explain your opinion. By the end of the lesson, you were ready to answer the first text based question: “To what extent can we consider Christopher an anti hero?” Next lesson we will be answering this in an extended essay style answer.
